Background
The Healthier Environment through Abatement of Vehicle Emissions and Noise (HEAVEN) project has developed an integrated Decision Support System (DSS) for urban traffic management. The project partners developed the DSS over the course of two years of cooperation in Berlin, Leicester, Paris, Prague, Rome and Rotterdam.

The 2-day conference of the HEAVEN project was held in Prague on 5-6 December 2002. The final goal was to present HEAVEN's innovative and effective approach to the management of traffic and environment in all partner cities.

During the conference:
  • HEAVEN's Decision Support System was demonstrated at the information fair.
  • The applicability and transferability of this system was discussed.
  • A policy round table on integrating transport and environmental decision making through the use of IST was hosted, with key decision-makers and members of EU institutions.

HEAVEN provides support to urban traffic planners, decision-makers and environmentalists in managing increasing traffic demand and balancing it with environment protection.

Venue:
Prague City Hall
